FilmTT launched an In-Kind Initiative from the months of July to September, offering support to content creators in the pre-production and/production stages. During the campaign, we received submissions from over 20 filmmakers. Meetings were held with each applicant in order to review the status, timeline, genre, and distribution model.
FilmTT assessed each of the projects and supported in the form of:
• Craft Items
• Script breakdowns
• Shooting schedules
• Sponsorship meetings
• Lawyer consultations
• Endorsement Letters
Due to the number of projects at various stages of development, FilmTT realized the need to continuously provide additional insight and facilitation services on a number of submissions.
Nestle Partnership – Nestle Trinidad also partnered with FilmTT to provide conditional support for filmmakers creating content that features Trinidad and Tobago’s values, culture, and aesthetic.

"I was very pleased to learn about FilmTT's In-Kind services through social media. The application process was very simple and FilmTT kicked off the In-Kind process with a phone call during which General Manager Leslie Ann Willis Caton and her team engaged with me to learn about the animated feature film project I'm producing, The Caddy Club.
The FilmTT team immediately set to work to respond directly to the film project's needs, going above and beyond with recommendations for film crew and services to help me fill gaps in the project. I made connections with an insurance broker to insure the production and also connected with a potential co-producer thanks to the In-Kind services.
When I began the process of working with FilmTT, I had ambitions of hosting a design competition to invite illustrators and animators to kick-off The Caddy Club's previsualisation process. FilmTT used their extensive network of corporate relationships to engage Nestle Trinidad and Tobago Ltd, who generously contributed to The Caddy Club design competition prize with a product hamper.
The project's production company, Story Play Media Ltd, will use this Nestle hamper to award a top T&T character designer with a month's worth of Nestle products. Nestle's prize contribution will be part of a prize package, which includes a cash award and a chance to earn a paid position as a character designer for The Caddy Club movie. Thanks to the momentum created by FilmTT's In-Kind services, Story Play Media Ltd will launch The Caddy Club design competition on October 31st, 2020.
Two of the voice actors attached to play lead roles in The Caddy Club movie, Selena St. Vincent and Jarlon George, met with Nestle's marketing representative, Saish Seelal, who made the movie's young actors feel valued and encouraged them to keep striving for excellence. The entire Caddy Club team is thrilled to be able to work alongside FilmTT and Nestle to take the next steps to produce the first Trinidad and Tobago feature-length animated movie, through which we hope to inspire and bring joy to young people and their families for generations to come.
“We are extremely excited about the Nestle Partnership as we continue to build our Film Friendly Network with the private sector. It is important that companies, such as Nestle are able to be a part of a project at the development phase providing a holistic overview of the filmmaking process." Leslie Ann Wills-Caton.
